Avondale Elementary and Middle School
Leopardo Companies, Inc. was recently awarded the construction contract for this new LEED-seeking pre-kindergarten through 8th grade school. The school will be located near the intersection of Springfield and Milwaukee Avenues, just off I-90/94, and will consist of the following elements:
- 106,000-SF, 3-story, steel frame and masonry construction
- C-shaped prototypical design to serve 900 students ranging from pre-kindergarten to 8th grade
- Will include science, computer, music, art classrooms, library, gymnasium and dining facilities
- This prototype building is targeted to achieve LEED for Schools Gold certification, including a 50% green roof
