Leopardo Construction Wins Torch Award For Marketplace Ethics
More Than 800 Companies Nominated, Only Four Won
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Illinois (October 25, 2006) – Leopardo Construction, a leading construction services firm, won the Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) 2006 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. The prestigious honor, awarded by the Chicago and Northern Illinois BBB chapter, was judged on the following criteria:
- Ethical standards of behavior toward customers, suppliers, employees and communities in which they do business
- History and reputation of ethical practices in the marketplace
- Marketing, advertising, communications and sales practices which reflect a true representation of the company’s services
- Acknowledgement of ethical practices by peers
- Management practices and polices that give long-term value to customers, employees, vendors and surrounding communities
- Training programs that assist employees in carrying out established ethics policies
According to the BBB, the 2006 Torch Award competition had a record-setting year with more than 800 companies nominated. Leopardo Construction joins the ranks of past Torch winners, including Abbott Laboratories, RR Donnelley, Tellabs, Jewel-Osco, CDW and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois.
According to Thomas Joyce, director of public affairs at the BBB of Chicago and Northern Illinois, Leopardo is a “beacon of light in the ethics field, and they share the vision of the Better Business Bureau with their ongoing efforts to practice ethics in the Board Room and in day-to-day operations.”
