Constructed With 35-Foot Windows For Spectacular Views of Millennium Park

CHICAGO, Illinois (August 7, 2007) – Leopardo Construction, a leading construction services firm, recently completed a two-story, 15,000-square-foot interior build-out for Tavern at The Park restaurant, located adjacent to Millennium Park and Michigan Avenue in Chicago.

The two-story, 324-seat restaurant features high-end millwork and light fixtures, semi-circular granite-topped bar, flagstone-covered columns, gas fireplace, broad overhead mahogany beams and a grand staircase that leads to a second floor dining room where patrons can enjoy one of Chicago’s best views through 35-foot windows. The vaulted ceiling includes state-of-the-art sound-absorbing material to allow for a conversation-friendly atmosphere. According to the Tavern at The Park website, the restaurant provides a modernly classic setting while maintaining the relaxed air and comfort of your local neighborhood tavern.

To construct the restaurant’s new three-stop hydraulic elevator, precise demolition of major structural elements was required along with the installation of two 50-foot long, 5,400-pound support beams. Since the pit of the elevator penetrates the Metra station directly beneath the restaurant, the work required meticulous coordination with Metra and was successfully completed without any interruption to train services.
