Harvest Christian Academy

The 300,000-SF former headquarters of Safety Kleen Corporation, located on 75 acres in Elgin, Illinois was donated to Harvest Bible Chapel, a Christian ministry, to house their new Christian education school. The new school serves kindergarten through 8th grade classes. Leopardo renovated portions of the corporate office building to include:

• 20 new classrooms with private restroom facilities
• 630 seat temporary worship center
• 5,900-SF gymnasium with locker rooms
• 1,500-SF science laboratory
• 3,000-SF children’s library
• Art classroom
• Expansion of existing kitchen facility
• Life safety upgrades including a fire alarm system expansion, public address system and synchronized clock system and the provision of an area of refuge call stations in stairwells
• Project completed on schedule and in time for fall classes to begin
