Golder College Prep
This renovation rehabilitated two existing masonry & wood structures from 1890 and 1914 that were previously utilized as both private (Archdiocese of Chicago) and public schools. The general components of the project consisted of:
- Substantial bracing & shoring operations to strengthen existing foundations
- Hazardous materials abatement
- Major utility relocations as well as new utility services
- Four new stair systems integrated into old existing structures
- New entrances, window replacements and utility entrances (ADA compliant)
- Complete overhaul of all MEP/FP systems while ensuring uninterrupted services to the adjacent church
- Creation of locker room & fitness areas and warming kitchen
- Rehabilitation of stage & multi-purpose area
- Creation of consistent elevations between three separate buildings at three different elevations
- New classrooms, laboratories, offices and music rooms
- Complete roof replacements
- Complete new interior partitions and finish packages
- New parking lot, landscaping and sidewalk replacement
- Creation of an in-fill building to join the structures together and allow for ADA accessing via elevator and chair lift systems
- Installation of new fire protection system throughout both old structures and the new in-fill building
