Chicago Public Schools

The 150,000-square-foot, historic Shakespeare School had been abandoned for seven years when the City of Chicago decided to convert it back into a school. To bring it back to life, Leopardo Construction gutted the entire interior, which included debris removal, asbestos abatement and mold/mildew elimination, and constructed new classrooms, a library and a cafeteria. Additional improvements included new roofing, HVAC and MEP systems, masonry tuckpointing and site work around the perimeter of the building.
